MIND TRAILは今から3年前の2020年、コロナ禍における観光復興の一環として開催しました。作品を通して奥大和の雄大な自然を体感するために何時間もかけて歩く芸術祭は、大きな打撃を受けていた奥大和の観光の活性化に寄与することができました。

奥大和に集まるアーティストや来訪者の視線が芸術祭にだけではなく地域やその産業、伝統文化にも向けられ、MIND TRAILは奈良を外からアップデートする役割を担っている芸術祭であると、回を重ねるごとに感じています。

その目的をより明確化できるよう、3回目の開催から具体的なテーマを掲げることにしました。
それによって、MIND TRAILの構造を改めて見直すことができたとともに、地域と来訪者と作品とアーティストの4つの関係性が新たに構築されました。MIND TRAILのテーマは、関わる人全ての共通の哲学として意識されているのです。

4回目の開催では、Competency（能力）をテーマとします。
人それぞれが元々持っている力が、地域の方々や作品や自然と深く交わり、奥大和の活性化にさらなる力を加えていって欲しい。そのような思いで今回のテーマを考えました。
地域に暮らす人々の素晴らしさと資源に改めて光をあて、開催地域では個々人が持っている才幹や感性をいかんなく発揮できる場が生まれ、来訪者は交流によって芸術祭や観光以上の体験を得、経験値を高められるような場になることを期待します。

小さな行動はやがて交わって大きな「交動」になります。MIND TRAILも、関わる全てを巻き込む強い力を持った芸術祭に発展し続けていきたいと考えています。

MIND TRAIL 奥大和 心のなかの美術館　プロデューサー　齋藤 精一（パノラマティクス主宰）

MIND TRAIL was started in 2020 as part of tourism recovery efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. The art event, which involved an art walk to experience the majestic nature of Okuyamato through artworks, was able to contribute to the revitalization of tourism in Okuyamato, which had suffered a significant blow.

The gaze of artists and visitors gathering in Okuyamato was not only directed towards the art event but also towards the region, its industries, and its traditional culture. With each iteration, I feel that MIND TRAIL is an art event that plays a role in updating the overall impression of Nara from an outside perspective.

To make its purpose clearer, we decided to set specific themes starting from the third year. This allowed us to reassess the structure of MIND TRAIL and establish new relationships among the region, visitors, artworks, and artists. The theme of MIND TRAIL is a shared philosophy for everyone involved.

For the fourth year, the theme will be "Competency." We hope that the inherent capabilities that each individual possesses will deeply intertwine with those of the local community, as well as the artworksand nature, and contribute further to the revitalization of Okuyamato. We came up with this theme for this year with this in mind.

By shedding light on the wonderful aspects and resources of the people living in the region and creating a space where individuals can fully demonstrate their talents, visions and sensibilities, we expect that visitors will not only partake in the art event and contribute to local tourism, but also gain a valuable personal growth experience.

Small actions intersect and eventually become significant "interactions." We aspire for MIND TRAIL to continue evolving into an art event with a strong passion that encompasses everyone involved.
